Billabong Koala and Wildlife Park
Award winning Billabong is New South Wales premier regional wildlife park that allows you to get close up to all of the animals. You can pat and photograph these magnificant marsupials in the Koala Breeding Centre after each of the shows which are held daily at 10:30am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm.
The Sea Acres coastal rainforest community is the largest and most diverse in the region. The forest runs right down to the beach, so you can enjoy the stillness and beauty or the roar of the surf.
Port Venture II is Port Macquarie's newest cruise vessel which can carry up to 41 passengers on the river and 20 passengers outside on the ocean for whale watching. A modern cruiser with upper and lower viewing decks which are great for spotting dolphins.
Dunbogan Boatshed & Marina has the only hire boat fleet on the Camden Haven River, with 11 hire boats, including:

North Brother Lookout
With spectacular views, this mountain-lookout (seen in the distance) offers barbecue and picnic areas and plenty of clean, fresh air! Named by Captain Cook in 1770, drive 2 kms past Laurieton towards the Pacific Highway to reach the mountain turn off.
Ellenborough Falls
One of the highest single drop falls in the Southern Hemisphere, this amazing sight is not to be missed. Only one hour from The Beach House, you will enjoy the drive through Kew and up to the Comboyne Plateau. Perhaps make the round trip returning through Wingham and Taree.
Off Road
The area abounds with opportunities to exploit the features of your 4WD vehicle.
Mountains behind Bonny Hills provide the challenging courses for many international cross-country rally championships.
Nearby Jolly Nose Lookout, which is accessible only by 4WD, provides a magnificent panorama including Queens Lake, North Brother Mountain and, of course, the mighty Pacific Ocean.
And then there's the long expanses of white sandy beaches available only to 4WD's.
Walking
A 6 kilometre walking track from Bonny Hills accesses Bartlett's Beach and Grant's Head via the sand dunes to North Haven.
A variety of treks through the tall timbers of the local hardwood forests behind Bonny Hills is available to serious bush walkers.
Rainbow Beach in front of the Beach House, offers a delightful 3 kilometre morning or evening stroll along flat, hard sand to middle rock and for the super fit, goes a further 15 kilometres to Lighthouse Beach at Tacking Point.
Local Craft Markets
Enjoy a walk through the local craft and food markets which are held at different local venues each weekend.
Fishing
Many types of fish are available - beach, breakwater, estuary, deep-sea, lake and river - and, if all else fails there is always the nearby fishmarket at Laurieton Fishermen's Co-op where local trawlers unload their daily catch.
Photography
Scenic lookouts, rainforests and many other natural attractions provide wonderful opportunities for photographers to test their skills.
A favourite photographic opportunity which may involve waking up very early (or staying up very late!) is to get a dramatic, colour-drenched dawn shot of the sun rising out of the Pacific Ocean.
Port Macquarie
Only 20 minutes away, this historical commercial centre is a hub of activity - great shopping, river cruises, joy flights. For the children and the young-at-heart, see Fantasy Glades and Peppermint Park.
Local Vineyards
Only a 5-10 minute drive from the Bonny Hills Beach House, the Long Point Vineyard features some of the finest wines in the region.
This family run vineyard offers wine tasting through the cellar door.
The Cassegrain Winery is the ideal setting for all occasions, from a romantic wedding to a casual picnic, featuring extensive grounds, a formal garden with picnic areas and boasting over 2000 stunning rose bushes lining the entrance to the winery.
In 1985 Jim and Kay Mobbs planted the first Chardonnay vines on the alluvial flats of their extensive property in the Hastings River Region on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. Thus Bago Vineyards was born, and over the decades to follow the vineyard would expand exponentially to include in excess of 10 hectares of grape varieties as diverse and exotic as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho, Viognier, Chanel Paradisa, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Tannat, Savagnin and Chambourcin.
